Exact switch SKU
Record JL/JR or equivalent platform identifier, module and port.
Compatibility engineering brief
HPE Aruba approval is platform-specific. CX hardware and AOS-CX must not be mixed with legacy ArubaOS-Switch assumptions, even when the form factor and nominal speed match.
HPE Aruba portfolios include different hardware and software generations. A compatible identity must be tested against the exact CX SKU and AOS-CX build used in the project.
Stacking, VSF/VSX, uplink and breakout roles can change the port conditions. The approval record should capture the logical role as well as speed and physical interface.
MingApex coordinates independent sourcing, coding and QC; it does not claim HPE or Aruba manufacture, certification or endorsement.
Separate CX/AOS-CX scope from legacy ArubaOS-Switch scope before testing.
| Required field | What to record | Why it changes the result |
|---|---|---|
| Host model / hardware | Exact HPE Aruba switch SKU: for example CX 6300/6400/8325/8360, including module or line-card identity. | Support can differ by chassis, line card, ASIC and port cage. |
| Software version | Exact AOS-CX release; legacy ArubaOS-Switch systems are recorded as a separate software/hardware scope. | Allow-lists, alarms, breakout and FEC behaviour can change by release. |
| Port mode | Port speed, VSF/VSX or uplink role, breakout profile and peer interface. | A physical cage may expose several mutually exclusive speed or breakout modes. |
| FEC policy | Configured/operational FEC for 25G/100G/400G and the peer expectation. | The wrong FEC policy can leave a recognized module without a stable link. |
| DOM / DDM | AOS-CX transceiver detail, power, temperature, bias, thresholds and warning state. | Recognition alone does not prove valid telemetry, thresholds or alarm reporting. |
| Coding identity | Approved HPE Aruba-oriented identity including vendor/part-number fields and traceable serial profile. | Vendor fields and part-number identity must match the approved coding profile. |
| Sample boundary | Serialized sample tested on the named CX switch, AOS-CX release, port role and peer. | A result belongs to the tested unit and named host tuple unless the scope says otherwise. |
The review verifies platform generation, port role, telemetry and repeatable sample identity.
Record JL/JR or equivalent platform identifier, module and port.
Separate AOS-CX from legacy ArubaOS-Switch and capture the full build.
Record access, uplink, VSF/VSX, breakout or stacking use.
Verify both ends agree at the intended high-speed mode.
Capture readings, thresholds and warnings from the named switch.
Monitor counters and link stability during representative traffic and temperature.
Use these catalogue families to define the link, then validate the exact HPE Aruba switch and software generation.
These products are technical starting points. A product page or programmed code is not evidence of blanket host support.
The sample must reproduce the target CX port role and preserve the programmed identity for later lot inspection.
Record the exact device, chassis or line card, software release, port identifier and intended link role for HPE Aruba compatibility.
Match form factor, line rate, reach, wavelength, fibre, connector, breakout mode and required FEC before coding.
Lock vendor fields, part number, serial format, DOM profile and sample identity so the tested unit can be traced.
Record recognition, link state, DOM, alarms, error counters, FEC status and traffic stability for the stated software baseline.
Release production only when coding identity, optical checks, labels and change-control records remain tied to the approved sample and order line.
Campus access, VSF/VSX, data-centre uplinks and legacy refreshes require distinct approval records.
Tie 1G/10G optics to the exact CX SKU and AOS-CX build.
Validate the intended port role, peer and redundancy behaviour.
Check breakout/FEC/DOM and counters under sustained load.
Treat ArubaOS-Switch as a separate host matrix, not a CX extension.
Use these redacted records to define what must be captured for the exact host, sample and order line.
AOS-CX evidence cannot silently approve ArubaOS-Switch.
An uplink result may not represent VSF/VSX or stacking behaviour.
Ignoring platform warnings weakens repeatable support evidence.
A later lot with different coding or components may not match the approved sample.
No. Exact SKU, AOS-CX, port role, FEC, DOM and sample evidence define the scope.
Not automatically. It is a separate software and hardware matrix.
Yes. Port role and peer behaviour belong in the approval record.
Coding identity, optics, label/serial format and approved change controls must match the sample.
MingApex will return a named-switch sample and lot-control plan without extending the claim beyond the tested HPE Aruba scope.
